From Lupita to Cate, To The Other Kate, To J.Law, To Angie, To Charlize...To Matthew and Camila, Here Are Wonderfully Talented And Gorgeous Best Dressed a la Oscar Red Carpet !

                                                       God, I love ALL of these people. 


Wowowow. What and an amazing night in Hollywood! Ugh, the 2014 Oscar Award show was incredible. Like, best Oscar show, hands down, in a long ass time. Why was it SO amazze? Well,  1) Because of Ellen. I mean she was HILAR...the pizza?! THE SELFIEE ?! EPIC. I can't.  2) Literally every single person and thing I predicted WON (yay, self-proclaimed film critic status)...except, Best Score...but like who cares about music anyways? (Still SO should have been Saving Mr. Banks...).  3) Lupita, Matthew, Cate, and Jared all predicted winners ALL won. And LIT all these people deserved every moment of glory they received...their performances were heart felt, emotionally jerking, and stuck with you all Award season long.  4) ALL the musical performances were amazing, but shout out to Indina for Frozen! (Even though John Travolta BUTCHERED her name...I don't even know what WHAT he said...).  5) The men and women brought it to the red carpet. Aka loved the white tuxes, and the female trends - a lot of cream, nudes, creamy pastels, tons of embellishments, while there were also some navys, reds, and the traditional black.

BIG WINNAS 

1. Gravity - lit everything, except the only one people cared about was Best Director. 

2. Dallas Buyers Club - I mean two gold's for Best Actor and Best Supporting is all you need.

Cream colored nude gowns were a HUGE trend on last night's red carpet, but obviously Cate was not only the clear winner for the award, but for best dressed as well. She looks so effortlessly stunning and always regal in this nude, embellished, perfect Armani gown. Love, love, love. Her earrings were also BEAUTS - a fun twist on the dress' sequins.

Luptia N'yong'o

I mean, ya'll already know how I feel about this. When Lu stepped out of the car, I saw the tip of her head with the head band and I was already excited. Lupita WOWed in this whimsical, princess Prada gown. Everything from the head band accessory, to the deep V, to the light embellishments daintily flowing towards the train of the gown, IS perfect. She looks like a "Nairobi Blue" Goddess and her Oscar was the perfect accessory. You go, girl.

Les Presenters ---

 

 

Kate Hudson

Well, she wasn't nominated for anything obviously, she was one of the presenters, but girl stole the show in this stunning, old Hollywood inspired Versace gown. I mean its literally beautiful. She looks elegantly sexy, which is hard to do. I love everything about this dress, so much...

Jessica Biel

Okay, so I normally have beef with J. Biel (aka like whyyy are you dating my husband?!), but I have to say, she looks really amazing in this blush, sequined, Chanel gown. I love the simplicity of the gown with her hair and makeup, however I was not about all the jewelry. Sequin dresses speak for themselves okay? (This I know from a ton of experience).  Like you don't need a necklace and earrings, and some bangles. That was the only styling faux pas, but other than that, beautiful dress.

Giuliana. 

So, Giuliana wasn't a presenter actually, but she was a fab red carpet host as usual. Continuing the nude trend, G looked so beautiful in this dress made by designer Adelaide label Paolo Sebastian...I've never heard of him either, but we're about to hear a lot because this dress was nothing short of fabulous. Just, so beautiful. Ugh, classic princess dress and would make a gorgeous wedding dress not to mention. I may keep this image around -- thanks G.

Angie. 

Angelia looks nothing but tres Jolie is this glimmering, long-sleeved, embellished Ellie Saab gown. So beautiful. Angie was there for her hot, producer husband Brad, obv, who ended up taking home the Best Picture Oscar for 12 Years. UGH Angie and Brad love each other SO much, I love it.

J.Law

 

Powerful, powerful red. Though, she may have tripped and fell yet again, which made for a perfect comedic segment for Ellen (LOL), she looked SO radiant in this beaming red OBVV Dior gown. It's so elegant and her new hair cut swag adds just the amount of edge to the classic style of the gown. My favorite thing, which she also did last year, is of course, the swoop back diamond necklace. I love how it hangs down in the back, very 1920's. You may not have won the award, but you killed the carpet J. 

Naomi Watts

Naomi is always one of my favorite's on the red carpet. Last year she blew me away with her avant-garde, silver sequined Armani Prive gown, and this year she goes with sequins again, but in a soft white. I love the combination of this dreamy, Calvin Klein Collection gown with the edgy, convex shaped diamond necklace. It looks brilliant. Such a stunna.

Sandra Bullock. #Sandy

Sandy looks so amazing in this deep, navy Alexander McQueen gown. She looks beautifully old Hollywood with her side swept hair and bling earrings and bangle. Though, she lost to fellow fab actress Cate B, Sandy's movie won a ton and hey, she looks a winner to me. A vision in blue.

 Charlize Theron

 

Talk about making a statement. The former Oscar winner, who won in 2004 for her role in Monster, appeared on the red carpet looking ready for business. Like, this black Dior gown is BAD (bad as in a good thing...). From the heart-shaped, low cut neck, to the elegant sheer, black train, to the most incredible WOW factor of all -- her 32 carat diamond necklace. Yup, I know. Like what is this? The Titanic??! Kate Winslet called, she and Leo want their heart of the ocean back. But in this red carpet case, you can keep it.

Matthew had his best accessories on his side, not only was his tux suit killing it, his mother and wife Camila, also looked so fab. Matt was wearing his classic Dolce and Gabbana, while Camila looked so elegant in a pale, pink gown by designer Gabriela Cadena, and I'm pretty sure momma Matthew is wearing Micheal Kors.

Don't they always look great?! YUP. They're my fav couple right now. Olivia also looks perfect in this collared, Valentino gown. Like, she wins the award for best-dressed with a baby bump for the past few months. Hands down.

In Honor Of Oscar Night, This Is My Red Carpet Tribute to Lupita N'nyong'o...In Anticipation Of What She Is Going To Wear Tonight...

Ahh, Lupita, Lupita, Lupita. While I am so excited for this years Academy Awards show, and for Ellen of course, I am honestly most excited to see what this lovely lady is going to be wearing on the red carpet. The 31 year old, Yale educated, Kenyan actress, nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 12 Years A Slave, has being killing it, and i mean KILLING IT on the red carpet since her recent shot to stardom. She has honestly never let the crowd down and always stuns on the red carpet. Not only should Lupita win best dressed for the evening, which I am expecting her to, she should 100% win her category for Best Supporting Actress. Why? Well, for three very simple reasons. 1) Her performance in 12 Years was incredible. 2) Newbie red carpet swag. 3) As much as I love Jennifer Lawrence, she has won the Oscar already and back to back wins is rare, so that just automatically leaves Luptia for the win. Am I right? Totally.

In America, on the other hand, we're extremely timid about being naked or showing off "private" assets in public aka crotch limo shots are always a major headline and when someone models topless - GASP.












Hollywoodlife.com did a poll asking readers whether or not they like the fact that Rihanna is extremely comfortable and confident in her body and is able to show off her um, nips and other assets, lolz, oooor do you think it's basically slutty and not okay. I obv voted for her confidence, but it was funny that the poll results were split right down the middle. 50/50, which is rare.

Adams also got engaged to girlfriend of 3 years (yeah, I had NO idea either), Troian Bellisario (I didn't even know what her real name was, I legit only knew her as Spencer and I don't even watch the damn show...)

So, am I surprised that Mila and Ashton are finally engaged? I mean, no. We all saw this coming it was just a matter of time. I mean, Ashton went with Mila to her brother's wedding, which she was obv in and that's when we all freaked out cause mags photo shopped her LIGHT pink dress to white...sooo cheeky. Now, I am surprised that Patrick J. Adams is engaged to Spencer? (Sorry, I'm like not gonna stop calling her that), ummm YEAH. Only cause I had NO idea he was dating anyone!! Man, Break UP City: Katy Perry and John Mayer Call It Quits...(For The 2nd Time Around)...Is Anyone Likeee Really Devastated By This? I Mean...Just Wondering...Show of Hands?

Well, first Paula and Robin (again RIP), and nowww this. It was announced this morning, super early via E! News Exclusive, that the duo that was John Mayer and Katy Perry have officially called it quits. Cew the sighs and mizz reactions! AWW Bummer. It was reported that the two have been broken up for days and just have tried to keep it on da down low. Well, suuure. There is currently no background info on why the couple may have broken up, especially after rumors that the two were engaged, so this is clearly still a pending story with I'm sure, more details to come. 

The two have had a great year together though, Mayer appearing on tour with Katy and surprising audiences at her concerts, while they two also collaborated on the song "Who You Love," which is featured on Mayer's most recent album entitled "Paradise Valley". Awww. Well, sadly, I guess paradise is not where this now former couple is heading. John is most likely heading back to his emo world, where he'll also most likely be waiting on the world to change...lolz...but seriously, and Katy will head back to her weird, kooky, cotton candy filled Cali-girl world where she'll prob just start reliving her teenage dream. HA, sorry HAD TOO.

Anyways, while adoring fans seemed to love the couple together...sadly, the romance between the two singers was again short lived. (siiighhhh). HEY - maybe it's because Katy is a possible lez? Well, it's so sad, yet so true. Yesterday one of Hollywood's sexiest couples, not to mention one of Hollywood's longest married couples, announced that they were separating. GASPP. Hearts everywhere were melting. I mean I know mine was...I thought I was misreading something...

The undeniably gorgeous Paula Patton and sexpot crooner Robin Thicke came out with a statement yesterday saying:  "We will always love each other and be best friends; however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time." AWW. But like WHY?!!!

Well apparently after Thicke's hot year on top with the sexy/scandalous single "Blurred Lines," you know with all da nude models dancing and lying around in bed with him, and let's not forget about Miley grinding on his D OH sorry TWERKING in front of the nationnn, (Like siiick Milezz. LIT a freaking wrecking ball), Thicke developed quite the umm sha'll we say Blurred Lines ego? He apparently spent this year gallivanting with girls in clubs, spotted arm in arm with girls like at the VMA's and all this otha crazy shiz, but like did any of this mean anything?!! Is this really why the duo are splitting? Because in numerous interviews and on talk shows Paula had said she was fine with all the attention (aka sexual attention) Blurred Lines was receiving...so like was she actually jelly???

Yikes. 

Paula and Robin have known each other for 20 yrzz!! They met, I guess in middle school when Robin was just 14 years old. AH. So they stayed friends through high school (yikess, which was prob way more difficult than Hollywood), and obviously got married...we def though with a long ass friendship like that, that the two would be together forever. UGH SO MIZ. Wait - Does this mean like NO future sex - No love songs?!!! I'm distraught.

The two have an ADORABLE son together who Paula gave birth to in 2010, and likee ugh, I reeeeally wanted them to have more kids. Mixed kids = da prettiest kidz. I'm obv super bummed about this.

Is it March 2nd yet?!! I am so ready for this year's Academy Awards because there are some kick ass movies this year, like its gonna be rough. Last year we had some clear cut winnaas likee Best Picture? Argo. Best Actor? OBV Daniel Day Lewis. Jokes. But this year, with one of the tightest Best Picture races in years...its gonna be hard to choose just one great film to reign over all of them; BUT if ya pick up the current issue of EW Mag (click here to go to EW.com) with gorgeous stunnas Cate Blanchett and Lupita Nyong'o gracing the cover, you can get Entertainment's top winning picks for this year. Here is just a brief break down of Entertainment's "The Winners Will Be..." article....OH and then, compared with my winning picks too, of course. #fakefilmcritic #wheresmyoscar?

Best Picture 

Liiiit there are SO many best picture nods this year and like, it's so hard to pick one. As a self-proclaimed film critic I obv took upon myself, as I do every year to see as many of the films as I could...I've seen them all except for Philomena and Nebraska, which I know are also amazing, and lemme say its tough. These movies killed it this year. While its a hard decision...EW's pick to win: Gravity, but by a noise. Do I agree? Me: Yes, Kinda. They're second choice is obv 12 Years...and I'm going with that. But it'll be either of these two. 

Best Actor 

I  mean, again rough. They should all win. We wish it was as simple as just being like Daniel Day Lewis by a long shot, but this is tough. Although the talk of the town to win is of course, Mathew, especially after winning both the Golden Globe and the SAG.

Me: I second that Mathew motion. EW has Leo falling short behind...freaking sucks for Leo. He always does Oscar nod roles liiiiterally at the worst time. He's gotta win one day...

Best Actress

Well, this category kinda has the Daniel Day Lewis groove, but with Cate. I mean Cate all the way. Side note: I'm still NOT over Emma Thompson not being nominated for Saving Mr. Banks. She should have 100% replaced Amy Adams. Sorry. #miz

Best Supporting Actor 

Tough city. All of these guys did an unreal job and def made their characters a huge asset to their films. EW says Michael Fassbender for 2nd and has Barkhad Abdi and Jonah Hill tied for 3rd, but da winner is...by a Daniel Day Lewis long shot...

EW: Jared Leto. 

Me: Jared freaking Leto. Unreal. Unreal. Unreal. Like, bye everyone else...but seriously.

Best Supporting Actress 

Well the talk of the town for this one is that the decision is split between Jennifer Lawrence and Luptia Nyong'o. Sucks cause they were BOTH AHHmazzing. And they're both awesome. The thing is, it's rare to win the double Oscar back to back. In fact the last time it was done was Tom Hanks and '94 and '95 for Philadelphia then Forrest Gump. (He's unreal). Soooo because of that fact...the winnna is...

Me: HOPING its Lupita. I mean and let's be real, we're ALL like waiting to see what this girl pulls out on the red carpet because she's been red carpet killing it. 

Best Director

Me: I agree. That was one crazy screenplay, but an incredibily creative concept.

Me: HA, for once I do disagree. I say Great Gatsby, but they are saying Gatsby for Production Design, which true I agree, but for me, Gatsby's costumes rocked my world. Like they were the best part of the movie...sorry Leo. 

Hair and Makeup 

EW: Dallas Buyers Club 
Me: Here is where I also disagree and say American Hustle. I think yes Dallas Buyer's, but only on for Mathew and Jared...

Best Score 

EW: Gravity 

Me: I don't eveeen remember the Gravity score. Like maybe if I heard it again, but isn't me not remembering it a bad thing?? and I LOVE movie scores I'm normally all about that so, like idk. I'm still team Saving Mr. Banks. Hands down.
