The 86th Annual Oscar Noms!!

It's OSCAR SEASON!! The 86th Annual Oscar Nominations and Snubs...and My Predictions for da Win! (Sooo excited for this red carpet doe..)

They’re heeeeeeereee!! Yes, yes, yes! At 8:33 this morning, the 86th Annual Oscar Award Nominations were announced by Chris Hemsworth and his sexy ass self (even though he is about to become a father of three…yikes), and Cheryl Boone Isaacs, president of the Academy.  The list of nominations only took about 15 minutes to read, and as soon as the readings was over – a new set of Hollywood stars were born.

“American Hustle” and “Gravity”, lead the pack with 10 nominations while “12 Years A Slaves” follows at a close second with 9 nominations, and “Nebraska,”  “Dallas Buyers Club,” and “Captain Phyllis” came in third with six nominations.

Now for the part where people become outraged and angry. Oh yes, the SNUBS.  People, including myself, were upset to see that Tom Hanks was not nominated for his role as Captain Phillip in of course, “Captain Phillips,” nor was nominated for his role as Walt Disney in “Saving Mr. Banks”.  In fact, “Saving Mr. Banks” was totally snubbed in the best acting categories.  Emma Thompson was snubbed from the lead actress category for her amazing job as P.L Travers the author of Mary Poppins. Now I can understand Hanks not being nominated as Walt Disney, but Emma Thompson was incredible, in fact this movie was incredible. It was however noticed for best musical score of course, and if it doesn’t win I’ll freak out. Like legit…I’ll be miz. I think Emma Thompson could have replaced Amy Adams in the lead actress category…sorry I’m just not that sorry.

My Predictions for da Win

Here are my Predications for the winners of the big dog awards.

Best Picture – ugh this is SUCH a tough one. There were SO many good  movies this year. I think they are all amazing but I feel like it is between “American Hustle” “Gravity” and “12 Years A Slave.” Even though MY favorite movie was hands down "Wolf Of Wallstreet." - Team Leo til I dieee.

Lead Actor – As much as I want Leo to win a God damn Oscar because he is LITERALLY nominated like every other year…this category is a rough one this year because everyone was amazing. Last year it was SO clearly Daniel Day Lewis for Lincoln, but this year it is a lot harder But I am gonna go with Matthew McConaughey OR Bruce Dern.

Lead ActressCate Blacnhett. I mean like – yeah. Meryl, we all love her but the lady has 3 Oscars. Give someone else a chance. Although this will be Cate’s 2nd. HOLLAA

Supporting Actor   Jared Leto. See ya – bye. He was AHMAZZING. Although this category this year has some awesome people and they were all pretty freaking awesome especially Jonas Hill and Micheal Fassebender, but Jared just wins for me.

Supporting Actress – I personally think this should be between Julia Roberts and Lutipa Nyong’o (love her), but I feel like the Academy may give it to Jennifer Lawrence. But I would love to see Lupita win it because she’s new and British and amazing and that would just be an awesome surprise and good for the “12 Years A Slave” cast.

SIDENOTE: We all know "The Great Gatsby" was a so-so movie, in terms of the story and acting...besides Leo...obv, BUT the film IS nominated for Best Costumes and if it DONEST WIN I'll freak out. Everything in the movie is Prada, Chanel, and Brooks Brothers - ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! It has to win. That's all.

The Oscars air on ABC Sunday, March 2nd at 7 pm e/ 4 pm p.  They will be hosted by the ever so funny, Ellen. Can’t
Wait!
