Last night Hollywood's most elite members of the Screen Actor's Guild came together to celebrate their peers at the annual SAG Awards! One of the main award show events leading up to the Oscars, the more casual show had a rather great red carpet last night! Most people don't expect much from the SAG red carpet because it's a much shorter show than the rest, there is no host, it's not a big to-do, it's just actors coming together to acknowledge other actors in a room...and getting to take home the fancy "actor" award.

The Big winners last night?? UMM OSCAR ALERT for Patricia Arquette, Julianne Moore, and Eddie Redmayne who have now won both the Golden Globe and the SAG awards for best actors - congrats to Viola Davis for winning for How To Get Away - BIG congrats to Orange Is the New Black star Uzo and the whole cast for winning best comedy (sorry Modern Family) - and the traditional winners of House of Cards, Downton - and the film winners were all about "Boyhood" and "Birdman."

SO, aside from the winners - what did we expect from the SAG red carpet? Well, for it not to be better than the Golden Globes...but likeee it just may have been. So, let's check out my top, best dressed stars on the SAG red carpet!

TOP trends: The main trend this year was effortlessly elegant and casually chic. There were a lot of simple low ponys, messy buns, beach blown waves, etc. A lot of cuff earrings, long dangling earrings, but minimal bling jewelry. For dresses, the main thing I noticed were a lot of jewel tones, blues, emeralds, purples - a lot of black and some pale pastels thrown in there. Not so much red as usual and a few while dress here and there. There were also a lot of interesting shoulder/ sleeve choices. There was a variety of one shoulder, long sleeve, tank, and off the shoulder gowns.

Top Tier - The BEST of the Best !

Felicity Jones in Balenciaga.
Now THIS my friends - is a movie star. She looks so elegant, I can't even deal. The pale pink is just so perfect and the cross body sleeves, ugh I die for this dress. I dare say (British accent), that Felicity is the best dressed of the night. This is just so, effortlessly elegant just like the night's fashion theme. Like, she looks so god damn regal, I don't think Kate Middleton would have looked better...well...okay I don't know, but still Felicity wins. Well done. (British clap). Well done.

Emma Rossum in Armani Prive.
Um...I think I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this dress, and when I mean dead in my tracks I mean I paused for moment and stopped eating my freshly made brownies  when they did the full body pan of her dress. This dress is like the perfect combination of tulle and sparkle that isn't overdone. Top off the look with a minimal diamond necklace and simple bun - boom. We have flawless. FUN FACT: The dress is actually a top and skirt. AHH.

Juliana Marguiles in Giambattista Vall.
Let's talk about jewel tones and talk about how this was by far the best jewel toned dress of the night. The best thing about this dress is that it is SO simple, but so elegant. The bold blue really makes her pop off the carpet. Like, I LOVE this blue. And I was so happy to see this dress on her because she tends to wear more black and white dresses, so this pop of color was a pleasant surprise for all of us. Beautiful, beautiful.

Julianne Moore in Givenchy Couture.
I truly believe that red heads look radiant in green and like Julianne just brought my belief to life last night. OH MAN, she looked amazing. The stunning beaded/jeweled gown sparkled on the carpet, and that emerald color just look so amazing with her perfectly wavy hair. THEN she accented her look with purple jeweled earrings, which I just love. Her stylist (who is also Reese's stylist) kills it. OH and Julianne WON. BOOYAH. That's how she rolls on a red carpet. Best dressed and #winning.

Eddie Redmayne in PRADA.
Ugh, named the GQ's most fashionable mad of the year, I am so happy for my boy Eddie. Not only does he look so fly always, he is WINNING. After winning the Golden Globe and the SAG for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, the boy is bound to win the Oscar...and if he doesn't OHHH. I am already having major issues with the Academy this year, so this would just take the cake! (No pun intended on Jennifer Aniston's movie). Talented, swag, and British...ladies, what could be better? OH being married to him? Well, yah. But so MIZ he's taken. (But like, I ignore that).

Not "The Best of the Best,"  but Just the Best...

Maria Menunos in Romona Keveza. (Though she may have been like the worst red carpet host...prob ever...like ugh, SO awk...she looked stunning.)

Kaylee Cucco-Sweeting  in Romona Keveza.  (Loved this more orangey red on the carpet).

Sarah Hayland in Vera Wang.  (This custom dress is just stunning. Everything about is...to the tee perfection. You get em Sarah).

Natalie Dormer in Naeem Kahn. (Spring has sprung in the form of Natalie Dormer!! She's perfection. She said she was gonna party and then hop on a plane back to England. God, I love ya).

Emma Stone in Dior Couture. (Welp, I think being in  "Caberet" has done wonders for Emma. Don't you? This is the sexiest not so obviously sexy dress on the red carpet by far).

Rosemund Pike in Dior.  (If there is one way to style your baby bump, it's by wearing a ruffled custom Dior gown. This is like sinful perfection. She looks as devious as her crazz "Gone Girl" character and I love it).

Reese Witherspoon in Armani. (And below the dark devil we have a glowing angel. Reese beams in this simply elegant Armani gown).

Lupita in Elle Saab. (I mean...when people say the expression "she could wear a paper bag and look great" -- they're talking about Lupita. Yes I purposely made this photo larger. Just take it all in).

Tatitana Maslany in Oscar de la Renta.  (I love the neckline on her and Sarah Hayland, drop V neck with the think straps...and this dress is just nothing short of perfection. Thank you Oscar).

UZO In Angel Sanchez. (And I am so glad she wore this bright yellow dress, completely standing out from the crowd because girl her first SAG award and OWNED IT. Congrats to UZO!!)

Kiera Knightly in Erdem. (At first I didn't really like this dress, but Kiera is literally glowing with her loose waves, awesome ear cuff, and I decided I love the cut-out chiffon of the gown which is extremely delicate. Her Critic's Choice outfit was way better, but she looks the definition of simply chic in this).
