Fashion Week in Sochi?

Best and Worst Dressed...annd some great Wardrobe Malfunctions (so far...) In Sochi

Ah yes its that Olympic time of year, even though this time of year only happens once every 2 years...whatever. We're still excited about it even though the winter Olympics are coinciding with New York Fashion Week. Now as exciting NYFW is, let's take a step back from couture and admire what the athletes are wearing in Sochi town, Russia. Yes, the Olympic fashions can be just as interesting and just as crazy if you think about it. Let's break down whats happening fashion wise so far. There's some pretty legit winter shit, if you feel me.

The Opening Ceremony

Even if you don't actually care about the Olympics or still don't know what curling is...or luge (WTF? I
mean, I'm guilty), you still tuned into the Opening Ceremony cause it's pretty, there are fire works, and you get to see what all the countries are wearing. While you can put on some red chino shorts and navy blazers and call it a day at the Summer Olympics (#TeamBermuda), at the winter Olympic obviously the dress is more over da top.

RUSSIA.

I mean, they're hosing so they get to go all out. Look at these fur coats. Too much for Russia? Nah, not enough. I'd like to think that Russia's motto is in fact "go big or go home..." #bigcountryproblems

USA.

Americans in the classic Ralph Lauren cardigan. Standard. I obv don't hate these (prep citaay), but I'm more down for the Ralph Lauren blazer look...but if someone gave me this sweater, I mean, I'd rock it. Probably wear it to ugly Christmas sweater party tho...oops?

Tall about stars on top of stripes on top of stars.

GERMANY.

I mean, I guess they thought it was a good idea to distract us cause likee there is too much going on here.

It's like an Olympic Where's Waldo...

T.a.T.u

Remember "All The Things She Said..." yeah, okay. I'm pretty sure that's how I found out what a lesbian was, nbd. Well the group looks good for you know, being MIA for almost a decad, but I don't get these outfits - it's like ballroom school girl? #miz

DECOR

Well the torch looked sleek.

But remember when the ring was still a snowflake? LOL. This is 100% a wardrobe malfunction. Like that's #miz.

Speed Skating

The Netherlands are blinding everyone with their orange everything. From the bright speed skating suits to the audiences annoying orange puffy jackets. I gotta say though, the Netherlands are obv kicking ass. Look at Sven here winning gold and breaking da record.

So cheers to you Netherlands! Best dressed speed skaters. Orange is obv a winning color. (side note cuse reference obv).

The USA decided to go all black this year. Kinda boring, but looks intense. I don't hate it.

Russia's outfits are kinda cool. They're designed well and the basically all white body suits with the accents of red really looks cool on the ice. But the leg part have these kinda sheer ombre panels that look like trendy leggins from Urban Outfitters that only girls would wear. OH.

Men Can unzip their suit all the way down when they're done racing. You know, for some air. A nice little breather...

WOMEN CAN"T.

Oops. Wardrobe malfunction city. #miz

Lock it up.

Snowboarding

These are the USA snow boarding looks. Hmm. I don't know how I feel about these patchwork - like jackets. OK I'm lying. I hate them. Sorry, I'm not.

Sooo like, maybe they look better in da air?

Now these jackets...I like. I'm all for anything metallic. And look how cute Sage is accenting his silver jacket with a gold medal...lol. Perfect. SO stoked.

Oh, ya. You look good too Jamie. I def want one of these jackets. It's happening. Who knew that USA was like this good at snowboarding? Sorry Canada.

Figure Skating

Umm, While this was an interesting outfit on the ice...(You sure know how to dress em Canada...)

And the Russians went with glittery, sequin vest...

I think Gracie Gold killed it for the states.

Gorgeous. I'd prob wear this out...nbd.
Hope she wins da gold, after all that is her name. (classic Olympic joke of the week...)

More fun/crazy Olympic to come! Can't wait to keep watching. Don't you just love the winter? lol.
