Vday Movies

Happy Valentine's DAY Everyone!! Here Are The Movies Hitting Theaters On This Romantic OF Days...

Ah, yes Valentine's Day. Everyone's favorite holiday...HA SIKE. Whether you're still snowed in or are trekking to work in the massive snow overload...you've prob got Vday on da mind - even if you hate it. Yep, cause there's 100% more Vday haters than lovers. Even if you're in a steady relationship (lol steady sorry I think its 1954), or single ready to mingle, Valentine's Day is like super stressful. If you don't have a 'reaal' Valentine, so to speak, you're pissy and hate the world and plan on getting hammered with your besties (been there), or if you are in a relationship, you have like HIGH expectations up the waaah-zoo and if they are met than you're like super miz. So, I guess either way you slice it, Vday is #miz. Except for all the great desserts aka pink cupcakes and chocolate hearts...

So, whether you're celebrating or not tonight, one good way to spend the holiday is to just lay low and maybe go to the movies. Here's just a quick list of the movies that come out today that you can totally go see with your significant other or with a group of friends. I mean any place where I shove popcorn and candy in face while sitting in the dark is romance enough for me.

About Last Night

This movie featuring Kevin Hart, Joy Byrant, Regina Hall, and Mike Ealy (aka the hottest black man in da world...just look at his eyes...), is a remake of the 1986 classic with Rob Lowe and Demi Moore. The movie deals with the standard issues of couples being couples with best friend couples, but the movie features tons of comedy due to Kevin Hart of course. So far, the movie has received  good reviews and seems like the perfect funny, romantic comedy that people want to see. Kevin Hart is just killing it lately with his most recent film Ride Along topping the box office charts for the past few weeks. Like can he be my best friend? I'd laugh ALL day.

Winter's Tale

I mean...this looks magical. I'm down to see anything with Colin Firth really, like what a man. I'm also automatically a fan of the movie because of Jessica Brown Findlay aka Lady Sybil on Downton Abbey. It makes me happy to she her, you know, not dead. Really makes me happy. Quick - someone tell Lady Mary! Anyways this is clearly a whimsical romance with time travel and 19th century costumes and I'm all for that. Critics are saying the movie isn't all that great and kinda cheesy, but I mean that's just standard from a movie like this. Fans will love it though and I am that fan.

Like that's just beautiful.

Endless Love

Okay. Soo this movie is one I won't be seeing, but for those like head over heel romantics...I guess this one is for you. This movie is a remake of the 1981 film with Brooke Shields, which I feel like a lot of people don't know. It's basically a more modern Notebook (but obv The Notebook is better. Freaking classic and hellooo Rachel and Ryan). The girl in this film is pretty and rich and falls for 'working class' Alex Pettyfer (who I actually love and is really hot, but still not trying to see this one). So, naturally the girl's father disapproves of the relationship, but they keep seeing each other anyways yada yada. I'm pretty sure they also have sex in front of the fire place at one point...wonder where they got that idea from? Obviously, I don't know how this one ends, but for those who are willing to check it out - let me know...I guess. Critics say no, but fans say go. Again, standard.

Labor Day

Now this is Academy Award winning love - and by that I mean two Academy Award nominees and winners falling in love on the big screen -  I'm down. I love Josh Brolin and of course, Kate is my girl. They are both such talented actors and their love in this movie looks so passionate I can't deal. Now this movie has been out for awhile and has been nominated for some fab awards, which means its not a cheesy B list love movie...So, if you're into the idea of an escape convict wanted for murder hiding out in Kate's house and befriending her son and becoming the father figure while at the same time def seducing Kate - then this movie is for you. If you're NOT about seeing Kate be miz get her heart broken for the like 500th time (hints Titanic, Revolutionary Road, and the Reader...ALL of which she was Oscar nominated for...), then maybe this isn't the movie for you. Buut, I mean, I love miz movies...especially with Kate. Hands down. So I'll be seeing this one obv. Also check out the poster for the list flicks the director of this movie also directed...each and every one of those movies is phenomenal and has some award credit. So this is def a good one.

HAPPY VDAY YALL!
