PRINCE: The Music and FASHION Legend. Duh.

All Purple Everythang, A Look Back on Some of MY Fav PRINCE Fashion Looks!

Heeeey guyzzz. So, I realize it's been a minute since I've been able to work on my blog, but when the Prince dies...its only necessary that we take a second to look back on the Prince of music, soul, and some of the BEST fashion statements of our time. We're talking, turtle-necks, sequins, bell bottoms, high heels and afros, and more. All hail le Prince.

Also, likeee to be clear, these are a few of MY favorite looks. And if you know me, then you prob know why these are my favs...lolz.

So here we go! Prince's Most MAJOR (and YES I'm saying 'major' because I'm mentially getting ready for the Zeon showing on Disney's original movie marathon) Fashion Moments!

UH-OH LET'S GO!

TEN - 2015 Grammy Awards.

OKAY, so not only was this orange, 1970s metallic get up super fierce, I will never forget this outfit or this look because Prince's speech that night...was everything. "Music still matters, black lives still matter." UGH. RIP.

NINE - iHeart Radio Music Festival.

TALK ABOUT SHADE. When you match your guitar...throwing shade to the audience is just necessary. LOLzzz.

EIGHT
- 2005 People's Choice Awards.

WHEN YOUR BLAZER IS ACTUALLY A HOODIE AND YOUR ROCKING BELL BOTTOMS AND MEDALLION NECKLACE.

Bow down.

SEVEN -  GOLD in 2011 at Madison Square Garden.

I mean...it's a gold. Sequin. Jumpsuit. I don't really have much else to say about that. WELL, other than like....I want to wear it. But, let's be real, we all already knew that.

SIX
- 2007 Super Bowl Half Time Show.

When you wear your hair up at da Super Bowl cause you know it's gonna rain, but you're still dancing in bell-bottoms AND heels, on sleek ass floor, playing the guitar AND singing...in a downpour. YUP.

And likeee if you don't remember Prince's 2007 Super Bowl performance for some God for saken reason, then you need to watch it right NOW. Seriously. Now.  Here's DA LINK. Go do it before reading onward. Seriously. Throwing you some mad Alicia-Keys-singing-Prince-at-the-Grammy's-shade right now.

I'm pretty sure thats the loudest I've EVER and I mean EVER heard a crowd sing with anyone at live performance and it's freaking epic.

FIVE - 1998 New Soul Tour.

Ruby red sequins? Check. Heels? Check. Cane? Check. SEQUIN BANDANA?!!!! CHECK, CHECK, CHECK. BYE.

FOUR
- 1988 DOTS.

I mean the only other person that could pull this off is like, well no one. He literally looks better than any woman, man, whatever in this outfit. Like he's SO pretty! OMG. Not over it.

THREE - 1991 Cane Swag.

Because NO diva on da planet earth can have as much swag as Prince does on this carpet.

TWO - 1985 Brit Awards.

Gold sequins? Pink fur? Need I say more? #Winning.

ONE - PURPLE REIGNS. Duh.

So, I don't care what anyone says, the "Purple Rain" look will always be MY number one for several reasons. 1. Because it's purple rain. 2. Because I will never forget when I walked in on my parents watching Purple Rain da movie when I was little and I asked them who the guy in the pretty, purple jacket with the AWESOME victorian sleeves was and then my dad told me that was Prince. Then I asked if he was actually a prince, then they laughed and told me to go upstairs because "Purple Rain" wasn't a movie for children. (Rude).

Then I finally watched "Purple Rain" when I got older and I was like oooookay this movie like kinda whatever BUT the music is awesome and so is Prince's jacket, and his hair. I mean that's basically what MY hair looks like when I get out of the shower SO, for me this look will always be my all time.

Like, when you make a COLOR trendy...that's serious.

When you're cool enough to wear a purple sequin jacket and a ruffled blouse, lemme know. (But like probs never).

Love ya Prince, you will be missed - music, shade, fashion and all.
