Golden GLobes BEST and WORST Dressed!

Golden Globes BEST and WORST Dressed!

HAPPY AWARD SEASON EVERYONE!!! Last night the season kicked off with the Golden Globes Awards and the big winners for the night were Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, and the cast of "LA LA Land." Real talk. But the people who slayed and umm didn't slay the red carpet is a whole another story.

Top fashion trends of the night of the carpet were pink and gold hued dresses, with some pops of yellow and of course, the tradition black. The top beauty trends of the night were middle parted, tucked behind the ear locks as seen on Amy Adams and Mandy Moore, side-swept hair as seen on Viola Davis, Ruth Negga, and Kristen Bell, and finally messy buns as seen on Nicole Kidman and Emma Stone. Other than hair looks, the make choices with mainly either nude lips with a faded smokey eye or bold red lips as seen on Kerry Washington and Lily Collins.

Now that we've broken down the trends let's take a look at all the women who killed it on the carpet and those who, well, missed da mark.

BEST

Jessica Biel in Ellie Saab.

By far my FAVORITE dress of the night! Love Ellie Saab, and this dress is just SO different and so elegant in a fun, unique way. I'm not a crazy Jess Biel fan but she SLAYS this dress, the velvet halter with the belted waist and beautiful, embellished bottom, it's just #FLAWLESS. Justin has the right to be proud.

Mandy Moore in Nahem Khan.

Wowza. Girl just popped outta no where and was like - BOOM I'M BACK BITCHES. And whata comeback. Not only was she nominated for her role in "This Is Us," but Mandy looked drop dead in this elegant, black gown, simple hair and drop-down jewels. Love, love, love this. It's like 90s singer WHO? LOL.

Kirsten Bell in Jenny Packman.

Can we say FIERCE! Move OVA Elsa and Anna there's a new Ice Queen in town and she looks BANGING. Lol. I mean, come on, I love Frozen. Anyways, this may be the BEST I've ever seen K. Bell look. UNREAL. This plunge neck, the side-swept hair and the diamond bling? AH-AMAZING. I love it. Can't deal. Such a winner.

Thandie Newton in Bardot.

Ugh, one of my main black girl British girl crushes of the night - Thandie. This girl can do NO wrong. I am totally smitten with the look. The crisp, white, off-the-shoulder gown with the touch of sequins at the  bottle and the glitz of the back-lace bling - so beautiful. Can I get an AMEN up and here?! God save Thandie.

Tracey Ellis Ross in Zuhair Murad.

YAAASS QUEEN! Not only did Tracee SLAY the Globes by becoming the FIRST black actress to win the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Show since Debbie Allie in 1982, the girl ROCKED the carpet in this elegantly detailed, Zuhair corset dress. Everything from the styling - the hair, the red lip, it's all just phenomenal.

Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad.

Wasn't a total fan of her recent film, you know the one about her moving to LA to become an actress and like Warren Beaty is in it? I like don't even know the name of it, but anyway, I did however LOVE this look. I love the romantic pink color with the open back and her styling is perfection. That up do is royal and the red lip makes the whole outfit POP. I gotta say

Amy Adams in Tom Ford.

I mean well, duh. If you haven't seen Nocturnal Animals, Tom Ford's 2016 masterpiece, then why don't you go do yourself a BIG fashion favor? OOKAY.

Natalie Portam in Prada.

I mean the girl is channeling Jackie O. What can be more perfect that?! If you've got a problem with her vintage feels, I most likely gotta problem with you. LOL. Kiddinggggg....kinda.

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton.

This is the lace dress done right - and who said the choker was dead? WINNING.

Ruth Negga in Louis Vuitton.

RUTH NEGGA IS EVERYTHING. Don't believe me? UMMM check out this article on Harper's Bazaar about how Negga is the new (hot, black British girl you should be obsessed with) fashion break out star of da year. ALREADY. HOLLA!

Viola Davis in Michael Kors.

Viola IS the definition of #BlackGirl Magic. From her winning dress, her winning role for Best Supporting Actress in "Fences," to her winning intro speech for Meryl Streep - Viola is literally just a freeeaking WINNER. This is def HER YEAR. Way to go girlll!!! Cyring. So proud.

Nicole Kidman in Alexander Queen.

Not in to her medieval, romantic, Belle from "Beauty and the Beast"- style sleeves and sheer, yet sequined dress? Well, I am. A lot of other sites are too. Leave it to Nicole to look simply ageless and SO, SO elegant. Can I be you when I grow up?!

Emma Stone in Valentino.

WAHHHH SO PERFECT. SO WHIMSICAL. Hey, Emma - do something WRONG for once!! Just kidding. Don't. Be perfect foreeeeever. So, likeee when are we hanging out?! P.S. The dress is pale pink people and YES, those are sequin stars. It's "La La Land" perfection.

Millie Bobby Brown in Jenny Packman.

First thing I said when I saw Millie on the red carpet was just - staaaph. Girl looks SO good in this Jenny Packman dress and Sophia Webster shoes. Star on the rise for sure. OH, and she's just 12. It's whatever.

Sarah Paulson in Marc Jacobs.

I meeean, SARAH IS PERFECT. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. I love you. I love this dress. I love your hair AND I love the back of this dress. Obv not pictured, but its a beautiful keyhole open back. Golden PERFECTION.

Hallie Steinfield in Vera Wang.

Let's be honest, it's hard to go wrong in a lavender chiffon dress. Especially when it's Vera Wang. Some may say it's too much, but I say there can never be too much chiffon. The hair and makeup is also flawless, and the diamond neck-line/necklace just tops it all off.

Kerry Washington in Dolce & Gabbana.

Kerry is often known for her unique red carpet looks, but the new mother looks simply drop dead goregous in this gold color with her straight hair (which she rarely does), and dark lips. I LOVE it. And her shoes are also killer. The heels are straight up diamonds. It's fine.

WORST

Keruchte in Dior (woof).

There is really nothing to say about this dress expect bad prom dress 2.0??? And even if I saw girl wearing this at prom I'd be like: "Why you wearing hot pink satin girrrl?" Nah not killing it. Sorry Keruchte please go back to doing what you do best - fighting with Chris Brown. Eeeek!

Winona Ryder in Viktor and Rolf.

Well, this is just a sad excuse of a black dress - sorry. Like, even Winona looks SAD in it! AM I RIGHT? I mean I think it was a fine concept, but it was just executed poorly. Whoops.

Anna Kendrick in Vionnet.

Oh boy. Well so many things. First all this awkward grey colors washes out the already pale actress. When you are pale - wear pops of color - SHINE! Be a Michelle Dockery NOT a Winona Ryder!! Lol. And the red lip literally does nothing. It's not a totally ugly dress it's not pretty. This is the definition of womp, womp.

Evan Rachel Wood in custom Altuzarra.

I mean, I know ERW's was trying to make a stand out statement in a suit and trying to let girls know that they don't have to wear a dress on the red carpet, but I mean stars like Diana Keaton and Julia Roberts were doing the whole suit/jumpsuit thang like WAAAY before you Rachel. I mean Octavia Spencer also wore a suit to the Globes. So. I personally don't think the soap box was necessary and I would have preferred to see her in a dress. Sorry.

Drew Barrymore in Monique L'Huillier.

So this dress isn't exactly terrible it's the styling. The styling is just all wrong. Zoomed in - Drew's hair looked like someone had just rubbed her head. AND she shouldn't even be wearing her hair down with a "cold shoulder" dress, it should be pulled up OR back so you can see her sleeves. Also she just didn't carry what could have been a beautiful look well at all. Mehhh sorry Drew.

Sienna Miller in Michael Kors.

Ugh, so we have the EXACT same styling problem here as well. The dress isn't bad it's a classic sequin MK dress BUT the styling is ALL wrong. I know Sienna is known for her quirky, unique style choices but pairing this sequin dress with pearls and a school-girl black ribbon is like a big NAHH for me. Love ya girl, but this look was not for the win.

Kirsten Wiig in Reem Acra.

I mean, again not a terrible dress BUT it's just boring. And with her new short bob, it just would have been cool to see Kristen in something more fierce. This dress is just blahhhhh and it totally washes her out. BUT kudos to her and Steve Carell for having the funniest segment of the night for sure. She never lets down with da funny, the fashion just needs some work.

Sarah Jessica Parker in Vera Wang.

UGHHH CARRIEEE!! Lol. So interesting, the young Hallie Steinfeld was also wearing a similar designed Vera dress on the carpet and she looked amazing, BUT the design of the dress in white satin with SJP crazy hair and dark makeup is not cute. Sorry SJP!!! I love ya, but this was not one of my favorite SJP looks.

Jessica Chastain in Prada.

I LOOVE Jessica. She really can do no wrong, but I don't love this look. Does the dress fit her figure well? YES. Does the color look amaze with her red hair? YES. Is the necklace dope? FER SURE. So what's wrong with it? Well the sequin roses and the 90's cut of the dress is just mehhh outdated looking. Not a terrible dress, but just not great and Jessica IS GREAT, so she can do better.

Felicity Jones in Gucci.

Ugh, it SO hard putting SOO many people I LOVE on the worst dressed list. I hate doing and I LOVE Felicity SO much like - British girl crush for sure (even though I have like 50 British girl crushes, I won't even list them all because it would turn into novel), but I'm totally confused by fairy looking Gucci gown. The color is pretty and well on trend with all the pink, but it's just not really pretty...design wise. Ugh, miz.

Carrie Underwood in Iris Serban.

Pink again! On trend YES. Pretty? Nope. And that's pretty much all I have to say about that. Other than the flower pedal attack though, Carrie's face looks stunning.
