2) The actress was born an only child to parents Richard Beckinsale and Judy Loe. Her father, who was also an actor, died when she was just 5-years-old of a heart attack.

5) The British star reportedly landed her big break when fellow actress Charlize Theron dropped out of 2001's “Pearl Harbor," leaving the role open for Beckinsale. The budding actress landed the lead role where she played the love interest to two WWII soldiers played by Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett.

6) A few years later, she portrayed the iconic Ava Gardner in hit film "The Aviator," also starring Leo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes. The actress, who is known for her relevantly slender frame, reportedly gained 20 pounds for the role to better depicter Gardner's more voluptuous figure.

7) After starring in hits like "Underworld" the star decided to settle down and married the film's director, Len Wiseman. The then-couple were married in 2004, following her 8-year romance with actor Martin Sheen, with whom she shares a daughter with. Wiseman and Beckinsale divorced in 2016 and now the actress has been linked to "SNL" comedian, Pete Davidson.

9) In 2017, the actress opened up about being sexually harassed by Harvey Weinstein at the age of 17. Beckinsale illustrated the incident in a long Instagram post where she said Weinstein "opened the door in his bathrobe." Though initially horrified, the strong actress said she was "unscathed" by the incident. Beckinsale joined the chorus of other actresses who spoke out against the disgraced film mogul which sparked the Time's Up movement in Hollywood.

10) In 2018, Beckinsale made headlines after sharing an Instagram post where she raved about an unusual facial known as the "Hollywood EGF Facial," which is said to include "liquefied cloned foreskins." The facial has been since referred to as the "penis facial."
