Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are not the only ones making headlines. Following the news of Loughlin and Giannulli's arrest after the FBI discovered they had participated in an alleged college admissions scandal, their daughter, Olivia Jade, revealed that her father “faked his way” through college in an interview released just days before her parent's arrest.

While appearing on the “Zach Sang Show,” which aired on March 8, the social media star explained how her father, who was thought to be enrolled in college, “started his whole business with tuition money that his parents thought was going to college.”

“He didn’t come from a lot so it’s cool to see that he built it all himself,” Olivia Jade said of her father who created the fashion line, Mossimo. “He, like, built his whole entire brand and he wasn’t actually, like, I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this, ever enrolled in college. But he, like, faked his way through it and then he started his whole business with tuition money that his parents thought was going to college. That’s, like, such a different time. I don’t know if I was supposed to say that, but it’s okay.”

The 19-year-old, who was a freshman at the University of Southern California, said she looked to her father for inspiration and was now thrilled at the chance to inspire other girls her age. Ironically, the social media influencer explained that she often received messages from her followers regarding the college admissions process.

“It’s the coolest thing getting DMs from girls being like ‘I’m applying to college right now, what did you do?’ It’s fun!” she on the "Sang Show."

But the young star admitted that going to college was not her initial idea, saying that her parents pushed her to pursue higher education since neither of them had attended college.

“Mostly my parents wanted me to go because both of them didn’t go to college. I’m so happy they made me go. That sounds so terrible, they didn’t make me,” she said. “My sister [Isabella Rose] goes to the same school and we are pretty much inseparable, so it was nice following in her footsteps in a little bit. I do like it.”

Loughlin and Giannulli were among 50 charged in an alleged college admissions scam where the parents reportedly paid $500,000 to make it look as though their daughter, Olivia Jade, had been an elite rower for her admission to USC where she was not listed on the USC women' roster according to People.

The celebrity couple was arrested on a felony charge of conspiracy to commit mail fraud. Since the scandal broke, the news has impacted both of Louglin's daughters. According to Page Six, both Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose have dropped out of USC for fear of being bullied about the scandal.

Both parents were recently released from custody after posting $1 million bond.
